  • Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from designated districts of state of Gujarat, Union Territory Of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli to join as Airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) [for Automobile Technician, Ground Training Instructor and Indian Air Force (Police) only] Trades will be held at Vir Savarkar Indoor sports Stadium, Race Course Road, Rajkot and SAMA Indoor Stadium, New Sama, Vadodara as per the Selection Programme given below.
  • Examination/Rally venue will be open from 0600h – 1000h and the examinations will be conducted as per the details given below. Candidates (from designated districts of state of Gujarat and UT of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli only as per schedule given below) fulfilling the domicile requirements and eligibility conditions and reporting up to 10 AM on 11 September 2017 and 19 September 2017 at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.
    Note : The Recruitment Test is not for selection as Commissioned Officers/ Pilots/Navigators.

  • ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
  • Date of Birth Block. Candidates born between 13 January 1998 and 27 June 2001 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally.
  •  Educational Qualification.  Candidate should have passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central/ State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • Note – 1:   Boards recognized/affiliated by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) will only be permitted.Note – 2:      Exact aggregate % of marks before decimal as written in the marks sheet of 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent OR calculated as per the rules of concerned Education Board will only be considered (For example 49.99% should be taken as 49% and not to be rounded off to 50%).
  • Domicile Requirement.    To be eligible to appear in the rally at Vir Savarkar Indoor sports Stadium, Race Course Road, Rajkot or SAMA IndoorStadium, New Sama, Vadodara, Gujarat the candidates are required to satisfy the following conditions:(a)   The School / College / Institute from where candidates have passed the qualifying examination should be within the geographical / administrative limits of designated districts (as specified in para 2 above) of state of Gujarat or UT of Daman & Diu or Dadra & Nagar Haveli. If the name of  district is not mentioned with the name of Institution in the certificate / marks sheet of qualifying examination, the candidates are to produce Domicile Certificate issued by SDM/DM/Executive Magistrate or any official authorized by the State Government of Gujarat or Union Territories of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.(b)   Permanent Domicile of designated districts (as specified in para 2 above) of state of Gujarat or UT of Daman & Diu or Dadra & Nagar Haveli who have passed the qualifying examination from anywhere in India are to produce the Domicile Certificate prior to commencement of examination from appro- priate authority as given in sub-paragraph 5(a) above.(c)   Sons of serving Air Force personnel whose father/mother is presently serving in any Air Force Unit located in designated districts (as specified in para 2 above) of state of Gujarat or UT of Daman & Diu or Dadra & Nagar Haveli, irrespective of their domicile status, are permitted to appear in the rally subject to production of Son of Serving Air Force Personnel (SOAFP) Certificate (format available on AFNET CASB website).

    (d)  Sons of Retired/Discharged/Deceased Air Force personnel residing in designated districts (as specified in para 2 above) of state of Gujarat or UT of Daman & Diu or Dadra & Nagar Haveli, are permitted to appear in the rally subject to production of proof of minimum stay of one year along with original and a photocopy of Discharge Book/Service Certificate issued from AFRO/DAV

  • .    Medical Standards.(a)   General Medical Standards are as follows: –        (i)     Chest:    Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm   (ii)     Weight: Proportionate to height and age.         (iii)  Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable.        (iv)       Hearing:    Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.  (v) Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14  dental  points.     (vi)   Health: Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages.  He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments.  Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.(b)  Height, Leg Length, Visual Standards and Colour Vision are as follows:

  • Body Tattoo. Permanent body tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms (inside of elbow to the wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of palm and Tribals with tattoos which are as per custom and traditions of their tribes only are permitted. However, right to decide on acceptability/ unacceptability of the individual rests with the Selection Centre. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit a coloured photograph of the tattoo with details of size and type of the Tattoo at the rally venue.
  • Only Sikh candidates, whose religion prohibits the cutting of the hair or shaving of face of its member, will be permitted to grow hair and/or retain beard and moustache. Accordingly, those Sikh candidates willing to retain the same as per laid down specification are to get their photographs with beard and moustache
  • Candidates discharged from Indian Army/Indian Navy/Any other Government Organisation are also eligible subject to their discharge with NO ADVERSE ENTRIES. Such candidate has to declare at the rally venue that he is an Ex-employee of the Organisation discharged from and produce original Discharge Certificate. In case of serving individuals they must be in possession of NOC from their employer at the time of Rally.  If any candidate does not disclose the fact of being employed or that of being an  Ex-employee, his candidature will be cancelled at any stage during the selection process. Candidates discharged from Indian Air Force for any reason are not eligible to appear in the rally.
  • Writing Materials and Documents Required.  Candidates are to bring the following:-(a)  HB Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Gum tube, Stapler and Black/Blue Ball Point Pen for writing.(b)   Seven un-attested recent (taken not before August 2017) passport size colour photograph (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs).  The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his Name and Date of Photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.(c)  Original and four self-attested photocopies of Matriculation Passing Certificate (required for Date of Birth verification).

    (d)  Original and four self-attested photocopies of Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent Examination Passing Certificate and Marks Sheet.

    (e)   Original and four self-attested photocopies of Domicile Certificate (or)  Original and four self-attested photocopies of duly filled Son of Air Force

    Personnel  (SOAFP)  Certificate  (format  available  on  AFNET  CASB  webpage)  for  Sons  of  serving  Air  Force  personnel  (or)  Original  and  four self-attested  photocopies  of  Discharge  Book/  Service  Certificate  issued  from  AFRO/DAV  for  Sons  of  retired/deceased/discharged  Air  Force personnel and proof of minimum stay of one year in the designated districts as per Para 2 above.

    (f)   Candidates discharged from Indian Army/Indian Navy/Any other Government Organisation.  Original and four Self-attested photocopies of

    Discharge Certificate (as issued from Indian Army/Indian Navy/Government Organisation).

    (g)  NOC in original and 4 self attested photocopies from the employer for candidates presently serving in any government organization. (h)  Original and four self-attested photocopies of NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate (if applicable).

    Note.   Under no circumstances the candidates will be permitted to appear in the Rally without Original Educational Marks Sheets/Pass ing Certificates & Documents mentioned above in paragraph 10 (c) to (g).   However, candidates with photocopies of Educational Mar ks Sheets/ Passing Certificates can be permitted to appear in the Rally only on production of a certificate from College/School Principa l certifying that Educational Certificates/Marks sheets are deposited with College/School.

    (j)  Consent Form. (as per the format given below) Candidates are to bring the ―Consent Form’ to the Examination Venue and submit it before the Physical Fitness Test. Candidates below 18 years of age are to get the Consent form filled and signed by their parent/guardian. The candidates of 18 years of age

  • Pay & Allowances.   During training, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be paid.  On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Military Service Pay (MSP) will be Rs. 26,900/- per month plus Dearness Allowance (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.
  • Job Specification.(a)   Automobile Technician.    As an Automobile Technician you will drive all types of light, medium and heavy automobiles, load carriers and spe- cialist vehicles like cranes, towing tractors, fork lifters etc.,  subject to  service exigencies.   You will also  carry out minor repairs, day to  day maintenance and basic level servicing of the common user vehicles and specialist vehicles in the Indian Air Force inventory.(b)   Ground Training Instructor.       As a Ground Training Instructor, you will train personnel on drill, parade, handling of arms and physical exercise. You are also responsible for organizing and conducting all games and sports activities.(c)    Indian Air Force (Police).  As an Indian Air Force (Police) your responsibilities involve assuming police duties and investigation of offences. You are also in-charge of maintenance of security.
  • SELECTION PROCEDURENote:    The original Passing Certificates / Marks Sheets will not be retained by the Selection Centre. The same will be returned to the candidates on completion of detailed verification.Verification of Eligibility.   Original Certificates, Marks Sheets and other required applicable original documents like NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate, Son of serving Air Force Personnel (SOAFP) certificate  (or) Discharge Book, Service Certificate issued from AFRO/DAV for Sons of retired/deceased/ discharged Air Force personnel (or) Discharge Certificate (if discharged from Army/Navy/Government organisation), Consent Form, signed by parents if candidate below 18 years of age, and passport size colour photographs   will be required and scrutinized/verified at the examination venue prior to commencement of Written Test to ascertain the eligibility prima-fac Detailed verification will be carried out later in respect of candidates who pass Written Test.  Candidature of those, who do not meet the laid down educational criteria, will be rejected during Initial verification of original certificates & mark sheets prior to conduct of written test and also during detailed verification on clearing the written test.
  • SEQUENCE OF EXAMINATION

Written Test.   Written Test will be objective type and question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper.  Answers are to be annotated on OMR sheet. Detailed procedure shall be explained before conduct of the examination.  Duration of the written test will be  45 minutes and will comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).  CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day.

Adaptability Test-1.     All candidates who pass the Written Test will have to undertake Adaptability Test-1 which is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT). All candidates who pass Adaptability Test-1 are to undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes. Candidates will also have to complete 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.

  • Note:   Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.

Adaptability Test-2.  All candidates who pass PFT will have to undertake Adaptability Test-2 as per policy in vogue.  Adaptability Test-2 is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.

Medical Examination.     Candidates who qualify Adaptability Test-2 will be medically examined in the month of  January 2018  at  Air Force Station Cotton Green, Mumbai. Medical Examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and existing policy in vogue. Medical Examination would also include Baseline Investigation of: –

  • (a)      Blood Haemogram – Hb, TLC, DLC  (b)   Urine RE/ME   (c)     Biochemistry:-    (i)     Blood Sugar Fasting & PP    (ii)        Serum Cholesterol(iii)     Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine     (iv)      LFT—Serum Bilurubin, SGOT, SGPT    (d)    X- Ray chest (PA view)    (e)    ECG (R)Candidates declared Medically Unfit can avail the option for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) against their Unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/RBI/SBI through Military Receivable Order (MRO).   The application for AMB along with original copy of MRO and photocopy of Unfitness Certificate are to be submitted to the representative of   6 Airmen Selection Centre within three working days of medical examination. AMB Centre will be  SMC, Air Force Station Lohegaon, Pune.
