He should know that the landscape has beauty for his eye, because it expresses a thought which is to him good:

Nothing is quite beautiful alone:  nothing but is beautiful in the whole.1

the sky, the mountain, the tree, the animal, give us a delight in and for themselves

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.
